Russia's top diplomat has warned against military action against Iran over its nuclear issue, saying such decisions bear 'disastrous'

consequences.

"Any forceful attempts to resolve differences by non-peaceful means would undermine all that has been done to bring clarity into the Iranian nuclear program," Foregin Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a press conference with his Zionist counterpart Tzipi Livni on Thursday.

He also warned against attempts to undermine the International Atomic Energy Agency report, saying "As long as the agency reports no deviation, I think it would be disastrous for us to undermine this very efficient and important process."

Known as the Middle East's sole nuclear power, Israel and its major ally, the United States, have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing nuclear ambitions and have threatened to attack Iran to stop its civilian atomic energy program..
